Sharing a plan without uploading it
HourAlign can copy a link that reopens the same cities, hours, date and length, and it can download a single calendar event. Neither step sends the plan to a server.
What the share link contains
The link keeps the meeting date, duration, time zones and work hours in the URL fragment — the part after #.
Browsers still request the page and its assets over HTTP, but they do not send the fragment, so the plan fields after # never leave the device in those requests.
A fragment is not encryption
Anyone who receives the link can read the same inputs you entered. The fragment is a compact encoding of the plan, not an access-control token and not a private channel.
Do not put names, email addresses, passwords or other private notes in the city or time-zone fields. Share only with people who may see the hours.
How to share
The share link saves the inputs: date, meeting length, time zones and work hours. It does not save the selected window or start time. Opening the link computes again and lands on the first available start.
1. Enter the people, date and length, then find windows.
2. Copy the share link when you want someone to reopen the same inputs. Switching English and Chinese keeps the same fragment.
3. To keep a chosen meeting time, copy the local times or download the ICS event; those use the start you selected.
4. If the plan is too large for a fragment, the page says so; shrink the number of people or fix invalid zones.
The ICS file
Download .ics writes one RFC 5545 event with UTC DTSTART and DTEND for the selected start and the meeting length.
The file is built in your browser. HourAlign does not read your calendar, does not request calendar permission, and does not upload or auto-sync the event. Importing it is a step you take in your own calendar app.
The event summary is a generic “HourAlign meeting”. Change it after import if you need a real title.
